You’re Fired! – We Love You and We’ll Miss You

My team recently attended the season finale of The Celebrity Apprentice. If you don’t know who the words “you’re fired” can be attributed to then you’ve been living under a rock.

I firmly believe in Donald Trump’s business philosophy, tow the line or you’re out of here! What’s ridiculous is the thought of keeping everyone you hire. Who isn’t delivering on your promise and furthering your goals? If you don’t know who those people are, ask your top performers—they know.

As I see it these are the people in your business who need to go:

  • People who suck up your time without delivering equally dramatic results.
  • Anyone who believes his or her rules are more important than yours.
  • Analog people who cling to old ways and systems of doing things.
  • Those who bring you down.

Always be looking for and bringing in new people to upgrade your team. Don’t settle. There’s a reason you pay for unemployment insurance.

Take a look in the mirror, decide who needs to go and tell them gently, politely and with respect, “We love you, we’ll miss you, move on.”
